Welcome to Starting 11 ("the Service", "the Application", "we", "us", or "our"). Starting 11 is developed, owned, and operated by Ouroborean Software Ltd, a private limited company registered in England and Wales under Company Number 17501725. By accessing, browsing, downloading, or using Starting 11 across web, mobile, and affiliated endpoints, you agree to be legally bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms") and our Privacy Policy.

1. 100% Free-to-Play & Non-Gambling Status (Game of Skill)

Starting 11 is strictly a game of predictive skill, sports knowledge, and tactical strategy designed exclusively for recreational and entertainment purposes:

• No Gambling or Wagers: Starting 11 is NOT a gambling service, betting exchange, sportsbook, or lottery under the UK Gambling Act 2005, the US Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act (UIGEA), or European gaming regulations.
• Zero Consideration: No monetary stake, deposit, fee, purchase, or financial consideration is accepted, solicited, or required to participate, predict, or win.
• No Cash Prizes: In-game points, accuracy percentages, trophies, badges, and league rankings are virtual entertainment tokens with zero real-world monetary value and cannot be redeemed, transferred, or exchanged for cash or currency.

2. Nominative Fair Use & Intellectual Property Disclaimers

We respect intellectual property rights and strictly adhere to fair use doctrines under United Kingdom, European Union, and United States law:

• Original Proprietary Vector Graphics: Starting 11 does not use official, copyrighted club crests, federation logos, sponsor emblems, or licensed kit photographs. All player jerseys, shield insignias, tactical pitch models, and trophy emblems are original vector graphics designed and authored by Ouroborean Software Ltd.
• Factual Match Data: Public fixture information, historical head-to-head records, and team sheet announcements represent factual sports data in the public domain.

3. Gameplay Rules & Anti-Cheating Integrity

To preserve competitive integrity and fun across global and private leagues, all users agree to adhere to fair play standards:

• Deadline Locks (T-90m): Lineup predictions automatically freeze prior to kickoff. No predictions may be modified once official team sheets are released.
• No Automated Bots or Latency Exploits: Tampering with client clock timestamps, exploiting network latency, reverse-engineering scoring endpoints, or employing automated scrapers/bots to submit predictions post-announcement is strictly prohibited and will result in immediate disqualification.
• Single Identity per User: Creating multiple accounts to game league tables or manipulate consensus stats violates fair play.

4. User Accounts & Community Conduct

Users may play anonymously as guests or authenticate via supported identity providers:

• You are responsible for the usernames, display handles, and private league names you establish.
• You may not use handles or league names containing hate speech, harassment, defamation, obscenity, or commercial advertising.
• We reserve the right to remove or moderate inappropriate handles or disband offending private leagues without prior notice.

5. Data Protection, Privacy & GDPR Compliance

Your privacy and digital rights are paramount. Our data processing adheres to the UK Data Protection Act 2018 and UK/EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):

• We practice data minimization: you can enjoy Starting 11 anonymously without providing your real legal name or contact details.
• Local drafts remain stored locally on your device (`localStorage`).
• You retain full rights to request data export or erasure at any time via Data Deletion or by emailing support@starting-11.com.

6. Disclaimer of Warranties

Starting 11 is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express, statutory, or implied. While we strive for absolute accuracy in match telemetry and timely lineup releases, we cannot guarantee 100% uninterrupted uptime or immediate synchronization during high-traffic kickoff windows.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Ouroborean Software Ltd and its officers, directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your access to, use of, or inability to use the Service.

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any legal dispute, controversy, or claim arising under or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
